Surrey Academic Health and Care Partnership launches new Innovation Funding round
Bids are now open for the Surrey Academic Health and Care Partnership (SAHCP)’s £300,000 Innovation Funding round.
The SAHCP, a collaboration between the University of Surrey, Surrey Heartlands Integrated Care Board (ICB), Surrey County Council, and Health Innovation Kent Surrey Sussex (KSS), was established to transform health and care services in Surrey.
The Energise Fund, spearheaded by the SAHCP, will support evidence-based, multidisciplinary projects of a value between £50,000–£75,000 (not including industry match funding) that promise to significantly improve health and social care outcomes in the local area.
Bids are welcomed from UK organisations based in Surrey, including private and public companies, SMEs, charities, universities and NHS foundation trusts. The lead applicant must be an SAHCP system partner, so either an NHS partner (e.g., NHS trust, GP practice), a higher education institution or the Surrey County Council.
The fund seeks to improve healthcare services in ‘out-of-hospital’ settings to deliver care that’s more cost-effective and convenient for patients.
It also focuses on early detection in healthcare by advancing preventative care to effectively address health risks before they escalate.
Each project must have a clear sponsor within the local health system and demonstrate robust public and community involvement. The inclusion of voluntary sector partners is highly desirable.
The funding call will close on Wednesday 25 September 2024. Successful applicants will be informed by Wednesday 16 October, with projects commencing from 21 October.
